Time without a contest
DIGIGMA times a sit. It does not assume you came to race. The clock is a way to feel the length of a board, to remember a best time, to compare today’s Easy with last week’s Easy if you like numbers. It is not a reason to hurry a deduction that is not ready.
A puzzle is solved when the rules hold, not when a timer likes the result. A careful Medium is not worse than a quick Easy. A long sit with one hard grid is not a waste.
A clock for you
If you see a clock, it is first of all yours. It starts when you start the attempt, and it stays with that attempt if you leave and come back. Refreshing the page does not invent a new life of the puzzle. You pick up the same board, the same time.
You can ignore the digits. Many people should. The next cell does not appear faster because you glanced at the seconds. If the clock distracts you, look at the grid instead. Nothing on DIGIGMA requires you to care.
History, not a race
With an account, a finished time can live in your history: a best, a streak of days you showed up, the grids you actually completed. That record is for you. It is not a public diary. Other people do not browse your evenings.
Guests can still play. Their sits are real. They simply do not carry a name onto a public board, and they do not keep a server history when the browser is cleared or the machine changes.
When a time can appear
Each published puzzle has its own leaderboard. Guests appear as Guest. Usernames appear; emails do not. Replays never enter the board.
The first eligible finish is the one that counts. A time shorter than that puzzle’s floor is saved as a completion and never listed. Help on a Premium sit is recorded on the server first; that official attempt stays off the board. Later replays, even clean ones, stay off the board too.
If you never appear on a list, you are not missing the product. You played. That was the product.
You do not have to compete
Open a live puzzle. Ignore the clock. Never create an account. Finish it or don’t. None of that is a lesser visit. Competition, on DIGIGMA, is an optional room off to the side of the house. The main room is still a quiet grid with one solution.
If you do like a public name beside a time, choose a username. What DIGIGMA is is the wider picture. Why play logic puzzles is the reason to sit, which was never a ranking.
